A round-up of all the latest Leicester City headlines onThursday, December 22.
Leicester Cityare interested in a move for Morocco international Azzedine Ounahi but would need to allow the player to return to Angers on loan for the remainder of the season to complete a deal, according to reports.
The 22-year-old midfielder has captured the attention of the footballing world after starting every game for the Atlas Lions during their historic run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar, with a number of clubs said to be now on red alert as we approach the January transfer window.
According to theDaily Mail, Leicester are one of several clubs interested in making a move with a fee in the region of 39 million believed to be enough to persuade Ligue 1 side Angers to part ways with the midfielder.
Leicester Cityhave officially restarted talks with Torino regarding the transfer of midfielder Dennis Praet, according to reports.
Praet, 28, spent last year on loan with the Italian side but returned to theKing Power Stadiumthis summer after the two sides failed to agree on a deal which would see the Belgian depart the East Midlands on a permanent basis.
Torino reportedly had an option to buy the player for around €15 million (13m) but attempted to reduce the figure to €8.5million (7m), which led to talks collapsing as Leicester rejected the offer and looked to hold out for a larger fee in the future.
Wout Faes had a lucky escape against MK Dons, the League One sides interim manager Bradley Johnson believed, after referee Andre Marriner missed a foul that could have seen him sent off.
Just before the second goal inCitys3-0 Carabao Cup win, Faes knocked over Daniel Harvie on the edge of his own box, prompting MK Dons complaints. Marriner waved play on, but had a foul been given, it would then have resulted in a red card for the Belgian, who would have been denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
That could have had disastrous consequences for City, not only in the game at Stadium MK itself, but also given a red card would have seen Faes suspended for the Boxing Day clash against Newcastle. City are short on centre-backs as it is, with Jonny Evans injured.
The World Cup provided a welcome distraction, but the real football is now back. And it started, for Leicester City, with a trip to MK Dons in the Carabao Cup.
There, they made light work of a side two divisions below them to calmly move into the last eight of the competition. Its the fifth time in six seasons theyve made it to at least the quarter-finals. Here, we look over some of the big talking points from the game.
Citywere two players short of arguably their best line-up with James Maddison still resting and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall injured, so when Ayoze Perez, signed as a right winger, and Dennis Praet, a midfielder, were brought into the line-up, it seemed obvious where they would fill in.
