In terms of outgoings, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison have both been linked with exits this month, most notably to Newcastle United, although the latters injury will likely see him remain in the East Midlands until the end of the season.

Leicester City have reportedly agreed a fee with FC Copenhagen for left-back Victor Kristiansen.

City will pay the reigning Danish champions an initial 15million, rising to 20m with possible future add-ons. The move will make him Leicesters first signing of the January window, and the second outfield signing since Jannik Vestergaard arrived in the summer of 2021.

Kristiansen will have his medical at Leicester tomorrow (Thursday) ahead of his move, according to The Telegraphs John Percy, after the two clubs agreed a fee.

FC Copenhagen have confirmed they have received an offer from City for their left-back Victor Kristiansen and are in negotiations, but amid reports of a deal being close, they say a transfer is not a certainty.

Leicester City closing in on 17m signing with transfer millimetres away

Leicester City are expected to sign FC Copenhagen defender Victor Kristiansen in the next 48 hours, it has been reported.

The 20 year-old defender is set to arrive on Filbert Way for 17million, becoming the clubs first signing of the January window. He will be only the second outfield player to arrive on a permanent deal since Jannik Vestergaard in the summer of 2021.

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told his old side to make a cheeky move forYouri Tielemans.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reckons Newcastle will make a move forJames Maddison- but not until the summer.

Good morning, City fans. Were in for another day of the transfer rumour mill, with more updates on Leicesters pursuit for new signings sure to roll in.

You can catch up on yesterdays leading Foxes stories righthere.

Leicester City reportedly refuse to give up their pursuit of Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez.

Cityare hoping to land several new signings this month as Brendan Rodgers looks to freshen up his squad. A winger is a known priority as the club are lacking in out-and-out wide players and failed to replace loanee Ademola Lookman in the summer, with Gonzalezs name repeatedly touted as a target.

Gonzalez, 24, was initially named in Argentinas squad for the World Cup, prior to injury, and has scored five goals in 11 games across all competitions this season. Fiorentina are adamant that the winger is not for sale,as chief executive Joe Barrone stated, but City seemingly have other ideas.

Leicester City confirm that teenage defender Ben Nelson has joined Doncaster Rovers on loan.

Youri Tielemans is apparently unlikely to join Arsenal or Newcastle United in the January transfer window - but Leicester City may be resigned to losing him for nothing in the summer.

The Belgian midfielders contract expires in the summer, at which point he can leave the club on a free transfer. City could sell him this month to receive a fee before then, but that does not seem like happening now.

Thats because Tielemans has no intention of leaving the Foxes before transfer deadline day, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Tielemans doesnt want to move in January. His contract is expiring in the summer and he wants to move on a free transfer, he told wettfreunde.

Leicester City only have one more Premier League match before the end of the January transfer window, and so when they come to face Aston Villa on the first weekend of February, their team could look quite different.

Thats not to say there will be a host of transfers in the next fortnight, but a couple of additions alongside players returning from injury could give Brendan Rodgers side a fresh feel. Heres a look at how City could be setting up come February, with the team comprising six changes from the one that lost to Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Leicester City must accept that new signings this month may not hit the ground running, manager Brendan Rodgers has said.

Cityare hoping to bring in at least three players, with Rodgers desperate to strengthen a squad that has not received significant investment for 18 months. A winger, a left-back, and a centre-back are all desired.

Rodgers will hope that any new arrivals can galvanise his squad and make an immediate impact, as many have done before. But he says the reality is that players can take time to adjust to new surroundings, as he has found with midfielder Boubakary Soumare. Needing patience to adapt is not exclusive to overseas players though, Rodgers adds.

Leicester City are facing a major battle to sign Azzedine Ounahi after Leeds United reportedly upped their offer for the player.

The 22-year-old, who played a starring role in Moroccos run to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, has been on the Foxes radar since last year. It was evenreportedin December that City had put in a bid of 20m plus add-ons to Angers, but it was not accepted.

With just two weeks until deadline day,90minsnow claim that Leeds have put in an offer of around 25m (22m) for the player. However, the report adds that a deal is far from complete.

Leicester City youngster Ben Nelson is wanted on loan by League Two side Doncaster Rovers, it is understood.

The 18-year-old defender has been with City first team on a number of occasions, featuring in several Europa League matchday squads last season. Although he is yet to make his senior debut for Brendan Rodgers side, he had his first taste of regular first team football at Rochdale this season.

He joined the League Two side on a season-long loan and has attracted interest from rivals, Doncaster.

Brendan Rodgers hand may be forced by injuries again as he picks a Leicester City side to try to end a four-game losing run in the Premier League.

Rodgers men host Brighton on Saturday and another loss could see them slip back into the relegation zone. Citys previous game against the Seagulls was one of their worst performances of the season, with the match at the Amex Stadium ending in a 5-2 defeat.

But Rodgers is likely to have even fewer players available to choose from this time. There are still no signings through the door, and the club started the week with eight players unavailable.

Which of those are able to return will impact Rodgers team selection.

Newcastle United have long been linked with a double swoop for Leicester City pair Youri Tielemans and James Maddison - but their sights could be set on a different set of transfers this January.

The Magpies, backed by the mega rich Saudi Investment Fund, are looking to strengthen their squad this month as they bid to maintain their challenge for a top four spot and qualification for next seasons Champions League.

As part of their transfer plans, the north east outfit are looking at the possibility of signing Chelsea midfielders Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, plus winger Hakim Ziyech, according to the Telegraph.

Leicester City are reportedly plotting a move to sign Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but will face competition from Newcastle.

The 26-year-old has played some part in Chelseas Premier League campaign so far this season due to injuries, but he can be restricted to regular minutes when the squad is fully fit. With Blues claimed to be looking at bringing in another midfielder, a move away for Loftus-Cheek could be an option.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, City areplotting a movefor the midfielder this month.

Leicester City are facing competition from Newcastle United to sign Fiorentina star Nico Gonzalez, it is understood.

The Argentina international is attracting interest from several Premier League outfits, who want to have more options for the second half of the season. City are said to have identified Gonzalez as a potential option, as a new wide man is a priority for Brendan Rodgers this month.

However, Italian outletTuttoMercatoclaims that Newcastle are interested in signing the 24-year-old. The players agent apparently held a video call with Newcastle to get a grasp of the situation.

Leicester City-linked Kamil Piatkowski has joined Belgian side KAA Gent on loan until the end of the season.

The Poland international had been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium, withreports claiming that City had joined the raceto sign the Red Bull Salzburg defender.Citywere said to be looking to sign the 22-year-old to boost their defensive options.

However, Piatkowski has agreed to join Gent on loan until the summer. Gents lead scout Samuel Cardenassaidof the signing: We are delighted to be able to convince Kamil to come to Gent.

Manchester United are eyeing a sudden deal for Youri Tielemans following the injury to Donny van de Beek, it is understood.

United were left light in the midfield department after the Dutch suffered a knee injury which will see him miss the remainder of the season. With Tielemans contract set to expire in the summer, the Red Devils are exploring the possibility of landing the 25-year-old for a lower fee.

The January transfer window was supposed to be Leicester Citys chance at redemption, but halfway to the deadline and the club are still to make any moves.

But while the optimism had dissipated by this point in the summer, there remains a sense this time that deals can be done. City see this as a continuation of the summer window, but now with greater room to manoeuvre.

As such, many of the positions they wanted to strengthen remain the same, hence their hunt for a right-sided winger. But, right now, Fiorentina continue to resist Citys advances for Nico Gonzalez, with the Italian club now declaring he is not for sale.
